A strategic partnership, a legacy
Peopledesign has partnered with Herman Miller since our inception in 1997, supporting the furniture/design leader in a variety of ways, including strategy, art direction, and award-winning execution.

We helped re-launch the company’s retail business, and today support the effort with exhibit design for tradeshows like ICFF in New York, product websites, advertising, collateral, and package design. We helped Herman Miller offer their product through Costco, the retail giant.




We developed an ongoing online design exhibition on American Modernism called Discovering Design. Herman Miller uses the online exhibit in their customer-experience spaces in showrooms and dealerships around the country to help tell the story of their design heritage.


For more than a decade, we served as Herman Miller’s primary strategic Web partner, designing many versions of the public website, intranet, customer and dealer extranets, and promotional sites. And we helped them develop corporate Web standards, designed to give them more freedom online without diminishing their brand presence.


Yang worked with the firm’s longtime Creative Director Steve Frykholm on 10 consecutive, award-winning annual reports.

Peopledesign supported Herman Miller’s growing health care business for many years, leading to a brand reposition and relaunch of Herman Miller Healthcare in 2009.

Over the years we have developed many artifacts for many clients within the company: generations of sales collateral, book-length vision and research reports, exhibit spaces, promotions, standards, and management documents and presentations. Peopledesign is proud of our longtime association with Herman Miller. It’s great to partner with a company that places a high value on effective design.
